Proudly Supporting our Communities - Spring 2023

 

(Spring 2023) At Prevail Bank, our goal is to help our customers, communities and employees pursue what’s possible. Being a community bank means that we are always looking for ways to enhance the quality of life in our surrounding communities. We believe that through the power of donation, we can continuously play a part in the success of local organizations, and in the community as a whole. Those organizations that applied and received a Charitable Contribution this spring are listed below.

It warms our heart to be able to contribute and assist so many!

Hope Gospel Mission

Prevail Bank provided $5,000 to the Hope Gospel Mission. They are building and expanding, doubling their short-term stay homeless shelter for men in Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties from 12 to 24 beds. 

Feed My People

Ten-thousand dollars ($10,000) was provided to Feed My People to purchase a forklift that will be used to move and distribute between 7 and 8 million pounds of food, supporting food panties in 14 west central Wisconsin counties. 

Stepping Stones, Inc.

A donation of $7,500 was made to Stepping Stones, Inc., a domestic and sexual abuse organization supporting Taylor County residents and other surrounding communities.  It is expanding its services and efficiencies by moving into and renovating a new location.

Mary’s Place of Central Wisconsin

Prevail Bank donated $7,000 to Mary’s Place of Central Wisconsin. They are opening a new homeless shelter in Wisconsin Rapids that has 11 apartment units. The funding Prevail Bank provided will cover the build and furnishing of an onsite laundry for residents to use.

Owen-Withee High School District

A $5,000 check was presented to Owen Withee School District in support of their building project, the renovation of the school’s former cafeteria into a public and school use fitness center. 

Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity

A donation of $5,000 was provided to the Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity organization to assist it in the conversion of a school to an 11-unit apartment complex for homeless veterans.

Baraboo Homeless Shelter

Prevail Bank provided a donation of $5,000 to assist the Baraboo Homeless Shelter in remodeling a kitchen so it can be utilized by multiple residents on a daily basis.

Friends of Emerson Park  

Through our Charitable Contribution program, we donated $5,000 to assist the Friends of Emerson Park in their mission of converting a minimally maintained vacant lot in Stevens Point into a desired destination - a city park with athletic facilities.
 

McLit - Marathon County Literacy Council, Inc.

Prevail Bank donated $5,000 to the Marathon County Literacy Council to assist them in providing financial literacy education, budgeting assistance, job search guidance, and basic necessities to low income and special needs people.   

Phillips Volunteer Fire Department

The Volunteer Fire Department of Phillips WI will receive a $5,000 donation to support the purchase of a fire suppression rescue vehicle (Side x Side). It will be used to help fight wildland and off-road fires that cannot be accessed by large fire trucks.

Junior Achievement of Portage & Wood Counties Area

Through our Charitable Contribution program, we donated $3,750 to Junior Achievement of PWCA to support existing student youth programming that includes financial literacy, work readiness skills, and entrepreneurship, and/or to expand this educational programming into new classrooms, schools, and communities in Portage and Wood counties.

Indianhead Community Action Agency

Prevail Bank donated $2,500 to ICAA (Indianhead Community Action Agency) to assist them in providing six interactive virtual financial literacy training courses to residents in six Wisconsin counties.  

Joshua’s Camp Corporation

Joshua’s Camp is a volunteer organization that hosts a free four-day retreat for families who have a child battling cancer or were treated within the last three years. Prevail Bank provided $1,500 to help defray the room, board, and programming expenses for one family. 

Marshfield Area Special Olympics Agency

Prevail Bank donated $1,000 to the Marshfield Area Special Olympics Agency to assist them in the planning and coordination of two dances (one in 2023 and 2024) for the special needs community in Marathon and Wood Counties.  

Medford Area School District – Junior Achievement Programming

Prevail Bank gave $750 to the Medford Area School District in support of Junior Achievement financial literacy programming.

Evolving Wellness

Prevail Bank donated $500 to support the mental health programming Evolving Wellness provides through its Safe Haven Teen Center located in Eau Claire WI.

Historic Preservation Association of Marshfield

Prevail Bank gave $500 to the Historic Preservation Association of Marshfield to support the development of a Heritage Museum website and to purchase listening devices for museum visitors to use for select museum exhibits.  

Operation Horses Heal

Prevail Bank donated $500 to Operation Horses Heal, a mental health program in Westboro WI that involves horses, veterans, active service members, and their families. Their mission is to improve and enrich the lives and well-being of their participants. The goal is to reduce veteran suicides by providing a venue to relax and rejuvenate.

Baraboo Interact Club – Food for Kidz

A $250 check was provided in support of Baraboo High School’s Interact Club, specifically the Food for Kidz program; whereby food relief is packaged and shipped to hungry children in Haiti, Honduras, and Ukraine.
