Prepare for Your Tax Return

Take a proactive approach to your taxes by preparing for your tax forms arrival and filing early. A few reasons why you should file as early as you can:

  • You’ll receive your tax refund quicker.
  • Gives you more time to prepare payment for any taxes you owe.
  • Provides you with important financial information.
  • Helps prevent tax return identity theft from occurring.

Where to Find Your Tax Form Data from Prevail Bank

On Your Computer

  1. Click the Accounts tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Select the lowest account number. (This is the account that will have the tax forms.)
  3. Click the Documents button.
  4. Choose your desired Document Type from the dropdown.
  5. Select a date range.

On Your Mobile App

  1. Click the More tab in bottom right corner.
  2. Click Statements & documents.
  3. Select your lowest numbered account.
  4. Scroll until you find the desired tax form(s).

When can you expect your tax forms to be available?

By the end of January

The mailing date or electronic release date for the following forms are expected:

  • 1098 (Mortgage Interest)
    • To report mortgage interest (including points) of $600 or more you received during the year in the course of your trade or business from an individual, including sole proprietor.
  • 1099-MISC
    • Miscellaneous Income is used to report rents, royalties, prizes and awards and other fixed determinable income of at least $600.
  • 1099-INT
    • Interest Income of at least $10.
  • 1099-NEC
    • Non-employee compensation for payments totaling $600 or more.
  • 1099-R
    • Distributions From Pensions, Annuities, Retirement or Profit-Sharing Plans, IRAs, Insurance Contracts, etc., for each person to whom you have made a designated distribution or are treated as having made a distribution of $10 or more from profit-sharing or retirement plans, any individual retirement arrangements (IRAs), annuities, pensions, insurance contracts, survivor income benefit plans, permanent and total disability payments under life insurance contracts, charitable gift annuities, etc.
  • 1099-SA
    • Distributions from special accounts to pay medical expenses. The form contains specific information that must be reported correctly and may or may not mean you owe additional taxes. If you have questions, work with a tax preparer or expert.
By April 15th

This is the last date to file your taxes without an extension (for most taxpayers).  If April 15 falls on a weekend, the IRS may change the deadline.

By the end of May

The mailing date or electronic release date for the following forms are expected:

  • 5498
    • Traditional, Roth and SEP IRA Contributions and Rollovers.
  • 5498-ESA
    • For a Coverdell ESA Contribution Information, for each person for whom you maintained any Coverdell education savings account (ESA) .
