Donations that Make Our Communities Better

(Spring 2024) Prevail Bank is proud to be a community bank. This means, we are always looking for ways to enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve. We believe, through the power of donation, we can positively influence the outcomes of local nonprofits for the greater good, making our towns, cities, and neighborhoods better places to live, work and play.

Organizations that applied and received a Charitable Contribution this spring are listed below.

It warms our heart to be able to contribute and assist so many — 20 to be exact!

Companion Day Services

Prevail Bank provided $5,000 to Companion Day Services (Marshfield). They assist adults who are: * Recovering from a recent illness, injury, or surgery * those who are frail or socially isolated living at home * experiencing a decrease in physical, mental, or social functioning * and/or developmentally disabled. The funds will support facility improvements and renovations.

Feed My People

Five thousand dollars ($5,000) was provided to Feed My People (Eau Claire) to assist in the purchase of a baler. Feed My People is a food bank / food pantry warehouse that serves over 75,000 low-to-moderate income individuals in the Wisconsin counties of Barron, Buffalo, Clark, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, Trempealeau, and Washburn.

First Presbyterian Church

A donation of $5,000 was made to the First Presbyterian Church (Wausau) to help cover the medical supplies needed by its Free Clinic on Grant Street, in addition to a clinic coordinator position.

Habitat for Humanity – Wisconsin River Area

Prevail Bank donated $5,000 in support of Habitat for Humanity’s local home repair program (Baraboo). The organization assists low-to-moderate income households, veterans, and the elderly. Home modifications include grab bars for bathrooms, ramps for wheelchairs, fixing doors, windows, and roofs.

Medford VFW Post 5729

A $5,000 check was presented to the Medford VFW Post in support of their construction project. The organization plans to replace its 75-year-old facility with one that has handicap-accessible entrances, a complete HVAC system, and space for events and storage of its durable medical supplies.

Pathway Home of South Central Wisconsin

A donation of $5,000 was provided to the Pathway Home of South Central Wisconsin, formerly known as the Baraboo Area Homeless Shelter.  The organization provides shelter and comprehensive case management services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The donation will be used for hotel and taxi vouchers.

Logger’s United Booster Club

A $5,000 check to build an athletic equipment storage shed on the Phillips High School’s athletic field was made payable to the Logger’s United Booster Club.  This is the fourth and final payment to fulfil a $25,000 pledge made in 2021.

St. Vincent de Paul, St. Therese of Lisieux Conference, Inc.

Through its Charitable Contributions program, Prevail Bank donated $5,000 to support the two food pantries and financial assistance fund that St. Vincent de Paul (Phillips) maintains for the benefit of 4,685 individuals in Price County. Last year 90,554 pounds of food was provided; 145 households received assistance with their rents and utilities.

Stepping Stones 

Stepping Stones (Medford) received $5,000 in assistance to help cover its annual operations and client services expenses. Stepping Stones works with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Taylor County. The organization rebuilds lives and renews hope.

Taylor House Supportive Housing
Prevail Bank donated $5,000 to support the operations of The Taylor House, a homeless shelter located in Medford WI.

Junior Achievement of Wisconsin – Northcentral Area

Prevail Bank gifted $3,200 to the Junior Achievement organization based in Marathon County in support of the student youth programming that includes financial literacy, workplace readiness, and entrepreneurship skills.

Junior Achievement of Wisconsin – Portage & Wood Counties Area

An additional $3,200 was approved to support the Junior Achievement programming in Portage and Wood County. Junior Achievement believes in the potential of young people. They help young people connect what they learn in school with real-world experiences, encouraging them to invest in their future and pursue their dreams.

United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties

Prevail Bank provided United Way of South Wood & Adam Counties a $3,000 check to support the programming that assists low-to-moderate income individuals and families. Collectively, United Way impacts nearly 30,000 people.

Marshfield Area Community Foundation  

Through its Charitable Contributions program, Prevail Bank donated $2,500 to assist the Marshfield Area Community Foundation with the building of 12 pickleball courts in Bream Park.

Hmong American Center
Five hundred (500) families are supported by the Hmong American Center (Wausau). Its cultural dining site feeds low-income elders and distributes rice and produce (250,000 meals over a 10 month period) to hundreds of families monthly. Prevail Bank donated $2,000 to help cover the expenses of its social services volunteer coordinator.

Central WI Childrens Museum

The Central Wisconsin Childrens Museum (Stevens Point) is one location that Portage County Health and Human Services, CAP Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Birth to 3, Healthy Beginnings, Head Start, The Family Crisis Cetner, ODC and Youth Counseling Service providers meet, mentor, and/or supervise their child clients. Through the museum’s EveryFund Program these therapists and youth utilize the museum free of charge. Prevail Bank approved $1,000 for the EveryFund Program.

Medford Area School District - Junior Achievement

One-thousand dollars ($1,000) was donated to the Medford Area School District to purchase kindergarten through fourth grade Junior Achievement classroom curriculum kits.

Town of Ogema
Prevail Bank donated $1,000 to the Town of Ogema to help replace the outdated playground equipment in Pioneer Park in addition to making it handicap accessible. Many people use the park for t-ball practices and games, camping, and other community gatherings.

Soup or Socks

Soup or Socks is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing food and clothing at no charge to those in need in the greater Marshfield area. Prevail Bank gifted $500 in support of its services and operations.

School District of Owen-Withee
Prevail Bank donated $250 in support of the recently revived Owen-Withee Youth Wrestling program. The funding will be used to purchase mats, uniforms, and/or headgear.
