For many, the 2023 holidays will be a little brighter!  For nine local nonprofits, Prevail Bank raised awareness, critical funding, and hope or happiness for those served.

Each of its nine branches chose a local organization for which it collected gifts and/or monetary donations during the latter half of November and early December - with the understanding that it, Prevail Bank, will match the public’s donations, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $1,000 per organization!

The result?  $14,926.10 was donated, split between nine entities! Of that total, Prevail Bank contributed $6,697.55. The benefiting nonprofits were:

Sauk County Children’s Giving Tree - $1,390.  Sauk County Children’s Giving Tree is a organization that provides toys, clothing, supplies, financial assistance, and meals during the holidays to children and families in Sauk County.

Eau Claire Department of Human Services - $2,020. Children’s Giving Tree. A giving tree was established in the Eau Claire branch lobby that featured tags with a child’s sex, age, and interest. Thirty-four gifts were provided by the public. Prevail Bank matched those donations and purchased 34 additional gifts with a total approximate value of $1,000.

Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS) - $1,060.  The shelter cares for approximately 650 animals a year. Its operations are sustained entirely by donations, fundraising, adoption fees, and municipal contracts for housing strays.

Hope Hospice (Medford WI) - $1,342. Hope Hospice’s mission is to ensure individuals in the final stages of their lives receive the utmost comfort and care.

Owen-Withee Food Pantry - $3,400. The pantry provides free emergency food and nutrition assistance to eligible low-income households. The Owen-Withee Lions Club joined Prevail Bank this year and matched the public’s donations, up to a $1,000 as well!

Catkins Animal Rescue (Phillips WI) - $2,106.  Catkins is an organization that rescues and finds new homes for animals in distress. They ensure that these animals receive any medical attention and emotional care they require before finding them a permanent, caring home.

The Uplift Foundation (Stevens Point WI) - $700.  The Uplift Foundation assists women and children, especially those in crisis, build confidence and achieve their dreams.

Granite House (Wausau WI) - $2,005. The Granite House helps adults, who suffer from mental illness, lead fulfilling and productive lives.

Acacia Foundation/ Wood County K9 Unit $903.10. Wood County K9s provide supportive services to local law enforcement. They are trained to protect the public, help solve/break drug investigations, and locate lost persons.
